Jiaxin Xi

Jiaxin Xi received her PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Virginia Tech in 2025, where her research focused on polymer materials with an emphasis on shape memory polymers (SMPs). Her doctoral work combined both experimental and molecular dynamics simulations to study SMPs triggered by focused ultrasound. She is currently a postdoctoral researcher in Mechanical Engineering under Dr. Jinsuo Zhang at the Center for Nuclear Materials and Fuel Cycle Research at Virginia Tech. Her research mainly focuses on the corrosion behavior of materials in molten salts. Outside of research, she enjoys yoga and exploring outdoor activities like hiking and biking.
