Woohyuk Lee

Woohyuk Lee graduated with a PhD in Materials Science and Engineering in 2024 from Sungkyunkwan University, South Korea. His main focus was on the corrosion of metals, particularly in aluminum-based applications for electric vehicles, including heat exchangers, automotive parts, and aluminum-air batteries. He currently works as a postdoctoral researcher in Mechanical Engineering under Dr. Jinsuo Zhang at the Center for Nuclear Materials and Fuel Cycle Research at Virginia Tech. His research primarily centers on the corrosion behavior of materials in molten salts, investigating the effects of salt purification methods, thermal gradients, fission products, and salt flow on corrosion. When I have a free time, I usually go to the gym and enjoy outdoor activities like hiking, jogging, soccer, and golf.
