Weiqian Zhuo joined NMFC since 2017 fall. He is pursuing his Ph.D. by conducting the researches on advanced nuclear fuel materials. Currently he is working on a nuclear metallic fuel project which is studying the mechanism of stabilizing lanthanides by the additives (Antimony and Tellurium) against FCCI. His research involves experiment and simulation. For experiment, he focuses on diffusion behavior between metallic fuel/cladding by performing diffusion couple test, and evaluation of the thermodynamic properties and optimization of phase diagram by DSC. For simulation, he is primarily using MOOSE frame work to study the liquid-like Ln transportation mechanism encompassing multi-physics model (diffusion, precipitation, and interfacial exchange, etc.), and the additive behavior utilizing phase field model.
He completed his Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Nuclear Engineering in 2013 and 2016 at North China Electric Power University.
